Robert Wayne Scott, 79, of Davenport, Florida, passed away at Good Shepherd Hospice from cancer on April 5, 2024.
Robert was born June 8, 1944, in Kissimmee, Florida to Elmer and Juanita Scott. A pioneer family of Florida.
Robert grew up as farmer/rancher on his homestead. He served his country as an E5 sergeant in the 10th Marine Regiment. He retired from Mosaic formerly known as Seminole Fertilizer.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting but his real love was for the youth in his community, his cattle and his land of which he was a good steward of. He created Road Ends 4H Club where he was a pillar of society. He produced high quality Simmental cattle that competed on a national level. He orchestrated dozens of fundraisers to give back to his community and to also give “his kids” in the 4h club the ability to highly succeed not just in a show ring but in life in general.
He was a proud member of the Lions Club, Florida Cattlemen’s Association and the American Simmental Association.
He is survived by his previous wife of over 30 years, Diane Scott. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Georgia Scott, his daughter Christina Peterson (Jerry), stepson, Kyle Alford (Renee), six grandchildren, three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his only son, Robert “Bobby” Scott II, one sister, Patsy Kiser and his parents, Elmer and Juanita Scott.
Graveside services are at Forrest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, FL and will take place on Saturday, 5/11 at 11am for family and close friends. There will be a public Celebration of Life to immediately follow @ 1pm at Edgehill Community Center 50 Westridge Rd Davenport FL 33837
