Local Fort Meade Softball Team Heading to Dixie Youth World Series
By Allison Williams
A local softball team out of Fort Meade will be heading to the World Series soon. The 12 and under Ponytails division with Fort Meade Dixie Youth recently won the Silver Bracket at the SFP (Southeastern Fast Pitch) Sun & Fun tournament, which will help them prepare for the upcoming Dixie Youth World Series from July 29-August 2.
They have had a great season and the team has worked hard all summer to get where they are today. They are excited about the opportunity to represent Team Florida in the World Series.
The special bond that these girls share and the fact that they have all played together for a long time contributes to their successes on the field. Both the players and couches have put in so much work both on and off the field in order to be successful.
