Meet 45-year old Theodore Crews, Jr. of Lakeland.
Theodore is a registered sex offender, but he hasn’t been compliant with his registry obligations.
On Tuesday, April 9th, PCSO deputies paid Theodore a visit at his Turtle Dove Trail home and arrested him.
While there, a detective noticed a John Deere tractor…it was a tractor that had been reported stolen out of Dade City.
That discovery blossomed an even bigger investigation, and detectives found two brand new Polaris RZR UTVs that had been stolen from Highlands County in February, a Polaris UTV that was stolen from Lakeland in December of 2022, and a Chevy truck with an altered VIN that had been stolen in Polk County in October of 2015.
In all, the PCSO recovered $105,000 worth of stolen vehicles and equipment.
Theodore Crews was arrested and charged with: Sex Offender Failing to Comply with Registry, and Grand Theft (six counts).
