Haines City Police Department Press Release
Agustin Rebollar Abundo, 20 Yr Old from Haines City, was operating a 2006 Chevy Colorado northbound on south 10th St. north of Hwy 544. Jondarius Burnham, 21 Yr Old from Kissimmee, was traveling southbound on 10th St. in a 2010 Black Charger. A witness, who was southbound in front of Burnham advised he observed the Colorado coming towards their lane of travel. He stated that as it got closer, he realized it was coming into his lane. The witness advised he was able to jump the curb, drive up onto the sidewalk to avoid Abundo. Abundo then crashed head on into the Black Charger driving by Burnham.
Abundo, who was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of crash, was found partially on the floorboard under the steering column, unresponsive. He was transported to the Heart of Florida Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Burnham, who was also not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, was air lifted to Osceola Regional Medical Center listed in stable condition with a broken femur.
Alcohol does appear to be a factor in the crash.
