Winter Haven Police Quickly Apprehended One Adult and Two Juveniles After a Lake Alfred Man Saw His Car Being Taken While He Jogged at Polk State College

Winter Haven Police quickly apprehended one adult and two juveniles after a Lake Alfred man saw his car being taken while he jogged at Polk State College.
On 6-27-16 at approximately 5:06 a.m., 32 year-old Christopher Delgado of Lake Alfred parked his black Nissan Altima at Polk State College while he jogged in the area.  As Delgado was jogging, he saw his vehicle being driven out of the parking lot. The vehicle had been left unlocked.
Delgado called 9-1-1 and officers in the area immediately spotted the car along Ave. O NE headed towards Fairfax Dr.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle at which time the driver, 17 year-old Daquan Anderson (DOB 12-10-98, Winter Haven) jumped out and ran. Front seat passenger, 15 year-old Tyrese James (DOB 6-4-01, Winter Haven) and back seat passenger 19 year-old Vinson Latimore (DOB 2-11-97, Winter Haven) also ran from the vehicle.
Utilizing K-9 and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, James and Latimore were quickly apprehended. Anderson was ultimately identified and brought to the Winter Haven Police Department by his parents and ultimately stated that he took the vehicle.

Charges for the three are as follows:

Daquan Allen Anderson – Grand Theft – Motor Vehicle (F3)

Tyrese James – Burglary Unoccupied Vehicle (F3), Conspiracy to Commit Felony (F3), Resisting Officers (M1), Petit Theft 2nd Offense (M1) and Violation of Litter Law (M1) James threw multiple documents from inside of the vehicle out along the roadway)
**James is currently on home detention for burglary

Vinson Latimore – Trespass Vehicle (M2)

Latimore was booked into the Polk County Jail while Anderson and James were taken to the Juvenile VAssessment Center.
