    Lake Wales, Florida – According to the Lake Wales Police Department a pedestrian has been struck on Masterpiece Rd near Mammoth Grove Road. Currently Masterpiece Rd is closed from Burns Ave to Mammoth Grove Road. The unidentified victim had been airlifted for medical treatment. Expect that section of road to be closed for a long time.  This is an ongoing situation. We will update this article as soon as information available.

Lake Wales, Florida – On Tuesday, December 16, 2014, PCSO detectives arrested two suspects who worked together to steal children’s toys from a Lake Wales Walmart – one of the suspects, as seen in the attached video surveillance, faked a “heart attack” at the entrance while the other suspect walked out with a cart full of toys. Eagle Lake, Florida – According to Bryan Lacey,  Polk County Fire Department spokesperson, a single vehicle accident occurred this morning around 7:30am. The accident happened near 4th St. & Brookins Avenue. According to Lacey Polk County Fire & Polk County EMS were on scene a few minutes after the call. The unidentified driver was taken to the hospital, but no information regarding their condition was released.
