Lake Wales, Florida – On May 15, 2013 while a Lake Wales Police Officer was conducting traffic enforcement he observed a vehicle driving very careless as it traveled South on U.S. Highway 27, near the Eagle Ridge Mall. Lake Wales, Florida – Lake Wales Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Section has made three arrests in the burglary of Lake Wales High School, located at 1 Highlander Way, which occurred on April 11, 2013. Information obtained by detectives resulted in the three following suspects being charged or arrested: 1) Jaylen Kingcade, an 18 year old Bartow resident. 2) Trevontae Shuler, an 18 year old Lake Wales resident. 3) Debonaire Brooks a 17 year old Lake Wales resident. DNA Evidence Helps Capture Lake Wales Family Restaurant Burglar
Lake Wales, Florida -Lake Wales Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Section made an arrest today in the February 4, 2013 burglary investigation of Lake Wales Family Restaurant located at 109 HWY 60 W. DNA evidence recovered at the crime scene led detectives to Xavier Ulysse, an 18 year old Lake Wales resident, who was placed under arrest and subsequently confessed to his involvement in the burglary. HCPD Searching For Armed Home Invaders After They Tied Up & Robbed Victims
Haines City, Florida – The Haines City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspects involved in a home invasion robbery which occurred on May 4th, 2013 in the area of Barrington Drive, located in the Haines Ridge Subdivision. Suspects entered the residence and overpowered the victims. The suspects then used duct tape to bind the victim’s hands. Highlander Zach Gill Signs With Warner University
Lake Wales High’s Zach Gill signed a baseball scholarship with Warner University during a Thursday morning (May 16) ceremony at the high school. The signing was witnessed by his proud parents Danny and Lisa Gill (pictured), along with other family members, LWHS coaches and Warner University baseball coach Jeff Sikes. Gill played for Lake Wales High as a utility infielder and right-handed pitcher. The Warner University Royals compete in The Sun Conference against in-state and out-of-state opponents including Webber International, University of South Carolina Beaufort, Embry-Riddle, Ave Maria and Southeastern.
Sackett Named LWMC Nurse of The Year By Patients
Lake Wales, FL – Tina Sackett, R.N. in the Intensive Care Unit, was honored as Lake Wales Medical Center’s Patient Choice Award Nurse of the Year. The Patient Choice Award recognizes the quality care, comfort and compassion offered by the nurses at LWMC.
