On Thursday afternoon the Polk County Fire Rescue was call to the scene of a brush fire in a solar panel farm. The area of the fire is off Bonnie Mine Rd. The call came in at 1:07pm.
The fire being in the solar panel farm is causing some issues in fighting the fire. Currently the Department of Forestry is in a holding situation. The panels don’t allow for your typical heavy machinery (bulldozers) to build fire lines.
Currently 9 units are on scene from the Polk County Fire Rescue.
