Haines City, Florida- According to the Florida Highway Patrol a 41 year old Haines City bicyclist was struck and killed Saturday night. According to reports at around 10:30pm a sedan was traveling southbound on SR-17, south of Bannon Island Road. At the same time the bicyclist was traveling southbound on SR-17 and began crossing the highway while being overtaken by the sedan. Despite an attempt to avoid a collision, the sedan collided with the bicyclist who suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol does not report the deceased name due to Marsy’s Law.
