On Monday, June 4, 2018, around 10:40 p.m., PCSO investigated a traffic fatality in Polk City. Preliminary information so far is as follows:
We received a 911 call in reference to an erratic driver of a black Kia Soul heading northbound on SR 33 North of Polk City. The car was reported to be swerving all over the road. The car then crashed & flipped in the area of Evergreen Loop. The caller remained on-scene until first responders arrived. They found the driver inside, 73-year-old Judith Morgan of Auburndale, deceased. She was not wearing a seatbelt. It’s possible she suffered from a medical event prior to the crash, causing the erratic driving and the crash. An autopsy will be conducted to determine her exact cause of death.
