Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 43 people for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol and/or drugs last month.
Of these arrests, six of them were involved in traffic crashes.
Two were found to be in the United States illegally and had an ICE hold placed on them.
Four are known to be repeat offenders.
And one, Ricky Willis, was involved in a 3-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 17-year old who was on a dirtbike. Willis was also driving while there were two juveniles in his vehicle.
These 43 arrests were PCSO arrests only, and do not include arrests in Polk County made by any of the city police departments or the Florida Highway Patrol.
