Watch Out For Phishing Emails Appearing To Be From The City of Winter Haven
The Winter Haven Police Department was made aware of a phishing email that is landing in business and citizen inboxes claiming to be from someone at the City of Winter Haven.
If you will look at the image below, you will see the things that will tell you immediately that you should be suspicious.
First, the misspelling of “My Nane is”. The most important thing to note is the email address is @cityofwinterhaven.com.
Any City of Winter Haven emails come from @mywinterhaven.com. A subtle difference that could be overlooked easily.
We want to remind everyone that, unless you personally know the sender of an email, always be wary of unsolicited emails and delete when they look odd. And of course, never EVER click on links or provide any personal or financial information.
