On Monday, July 31st, the PCSO received a call about an emu running around the Thornhill Road area of Winter Haven.
When a deputy arrived, he was unable to find the big bird.
The next morning, Deputy Rios and Deputy Carmack were dispatched to the same area following another reported sighting.
This time, the emu stayed put for the deputies and they were able to coordinate a reunion with the emu’s owner.
