  • Ready In 1 h 30 m

  1. Pour milk into a bowl; add pudding mix and beat continually until the powder is completely dissolved and the mixture begins to thicken, about 2 minutes. Beat melted peanut butter into the pudding mixture.
  2. Chill pudding mixture in refrigerator until slightly thickened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Spread about 1 heaping tablespoon pudding mix onto each graham cracker square; sandwich squares together to get 16 pudding-filled squares. Arrange onto a baking sheet and cover lightly with plastic wrap.
  4. Chill in freezer until the pudding is firm, at least 1 hour. Store in a resealable plastic bag in the freezer.

Putnam County, Florida – According to The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Jose Morena, 24 of Mountain Lake Cutoff Rd. and another man from Mexico were caught with $15,000 worth of cocaine in a Honey Grahams box during a traffic stop.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19-year-old Efren Zuniga of Mexico and Morena last week, March 28th. According to the arrest report, both men were in a vehicle on Highway 17 South and Paradise Shores Road in Crescent City when a deputy pulled it over because of a faulty equipment violation.

A Putnam County Sheriff’s Office K-9 sniffed the vehicle during the stop and indicated there were drugs inside, at which point deputies searched the vehicle and found the cereal box hidden in a duffel bag in the back seat.

Deputies say the box had around 514 grams of powder cocaine inside. It has an estimated street value of approximately $14,000 to $16,000, per Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

“Because of the thoroughness of the deputies involved in this traffic stop, a great deal of drugs never made it to the streets of Putnam County,” said Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy.

Zuniga and Moreno are both charged with trafficking in cocaine. Zuniga’s also charged with having more cocaine in one of his pants pockets.

This is an extremely unique travel trailerand not many out there from this model. Please be aware that this trailer is a restoration or remodel project. For transport we will recommend at least new tires . Clean FL title in hand. Our original intention was to remodel the unit ourselves and we had started . Our lack of time is forcing us to let it go. We have several local offer but we refuse to see this beauty to go to the scrap yard. We hope to find a new home and new owners that will bring it back to glory . We can help with the transportation for a fair price. We have started the restoration of the trailer by removing some of the wall paneling and insulation from some parts of the walls as it can be seen. * Most of the cabinetry is still there and in really good condition. * Front curved windows are there but the P.O. covered them with the aluminum sheet seen and not sure about why, since we couldn’t find any water leaks. Frame and hitch coupler is in great shape, looks rusty but integrally solid. Nothing that some POR15 won’t take care. The color matching toilet is still there, just not installed. * Sub-floor is pretty solid but few areas are soft an need replacement.. * No signs of water intrusion by the roof otherwise the wooden ceiling panels should be all stained and rotten. * Refrigerator and cook-top are missing in the kitchen. 1 Window is cracked and 1 opening on the side ( for a window AC ?) Matching original pink tub is there and i really good condition. 4 springs and all U bolts were replaced.We started to work in the front area (living room) and removed the….

Keep Polk County Beautiful, Inc. in partnership with the City of Eagle Lake, invites you to participate in this year’s Great American Cleanup Event on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 8 am-noon at the Keep Polk County Beautiful, Inc. office – (the log cabin) 45 4th Street, Eagle Lake.

The Great American Cleanup is a nationwide cleanup initiative led by Keep America Beautiful.  This cleanup event has taken place across the country for the past 30 years.  Last year, thousands of volunteers throughout Polk County joined in the cleanup effort.

This cleanup is a community wide effort.  Residents who have personal garbage and large items that need to be disposed of should contact their local waste hauler to schedule arrangements for pick up.

Volunteers are provided with garbage bags, gloves and safety vests.  Those who pre-register may also qualify to receive a free T-Shirt and ticket to Bok Tower Gardens.

On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, Polk County Sheriff’s detectives arrested on 40-year-old Monicia Antonia Brown for one count Unarmed Burglary (F-2) and one count Grand Theft (F-1) for illegally and fraudulently occupying a vacant residence in Poinciana.
 
According to the affidavit, on February 12, 2016, PCSO deputies responded to 400 Athabasca Court in Poinciana while conducting a petit theft investigation on the same street, and spoke with Brown. While speaking with her, deputies detected the odor of marijuana emanating from within the home. During a search of the home, deputies found multiple bags containing marijuana, marijuana seeds, and related paraphernalia, such as grinders, bongs, and burnt joints. Brown told deputies all of the drugs and paraphernalia was hers, and that she is a “spiritualist” and uses marijuana regularly. She was arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. When asked about who lived in the home, Brown replied she rents the home from someone and was paying her landlord via direct-deposit.
 
Due to inconsistencies in Brown’s statements to deputies about her occupation of the home, after she was released from jail on the marijuana charges (after posting bond), they responded back to the house to investigate further. Brown changed her story and told deputies she paid someone $7,000 cash to live in the home for seven months. She was unable to provide proof of payment or a valid lease, or contact information for the homeowner.
 
A search of the property appraiser’s website revealed the owner of the home is Augustin Pierre-Louis, of Jamaica, New York. Deputies called Mr. Pierre-Louis and met with him during his most recent visit to Florida. He told deputies nobody should be in the home, and that it is vacant. Deputies and Pierre-Louis responded to the home – nobody answered the door, and Mr. Pierre-Louis confirmed someone had changed the deadbolt lock. Deputies found a phone number for Brown, called her, and asked her to respond. When she arrived, she produced a fraudulent lease without a name, stating she could occupy the home from October 2015 until September 2016. 
 
Pierre-Louis reiterated that the home is vacant and he has not given anyone permission to live in it. Brown was placed under arrest and booked into the Polk County Jail. She told deputies she receives $700/month in government assistance.
 
“You just can’t make this stuff up. Our deputies spoke with this suspect in an unrelated theft investigation, smelled marijuana, arrested her, and went back out because they had a gut feeling she wasn’t being honest about living in the home. We will continue to seek out and arrest those who are ‘squatting’ in vacant homes. If you have suspicions about vacant homes being illegally occupied, please contact law enforcement.” – Sheriff Grady Judd

The Saddle Creek Park Gun Range will close Saturday to host the JROTC VFW Rifle Match.
 
The gun range will resume its normal operating hours Wednesday, April 13. The event is open to the public.
 
Normal gun range hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Gun range fees are $5 for three hours of use.

Lake Wales, Florida – A man was shot Tuesday night in a personal robbery in the parking lot of the Citgo gas station, 20500 Hwy 27. The incident occurred just prior to 10pm.

According to Carrie Hortsman,  spokesperson for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was a Lake Wales resident who is listed in stable condition at this time.  More information about the victim was not available.  The description of the suspect has not yet been released.

Currently this is an ongoing investigation & official statement from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office will be forth coming.

Bartow, Florida – According to the Polk County Fire Rescue train cars carrying biodiesel have detailed in Bartow. The incident call came in at 4:20pm. Currently there is no spillage of fuel. It may take several hours to get the cars back on the tracks. At this time it has not been reported what exactly caused the cars to come of the rail. The incident is in the area of Spirit Lake Road  & 17.
