Get Out Your “Boogie Shoes” as Winter Haven Theatre Presents Saturday Night Fever

Get out your “Boogie Shoes” as Theatre Winter Haven presents SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER The Musical, a show that will leave you with “Night Fever!”

disco

Based on Nik Cohn’s 1975 New York Magazine article “Tribal Rites of the New Saturday Night” and Norman Wexler’s 1977 screenplay it inspired, this cultural phenomenon centers around Tony Manero, a Brooklyn youth whose weekend is spent at the local dance hangout.

There he escapes into the admiration of the crowd, a growing relationship and the pulse of the beat that enables him to forget the realities of his life, his dead-end job and his gang of deadbeat friends.

This mega-musical takes you back to the bell bottoms, loose hips and the irresistible groove of disco!

image

Winter Haven, Florida  – On 6-26-16 at approximately 9:06 p.m., 53 year-old John May (DOB 9-2-62, Ave F NW, Winter Haven) called 911 to complain about the food he received from Checkers (940 Havendale Blvd.)

May complained, not only that the food was incorrect, but that the manager closed the drive-thru window on him, which “is insubordination.”

When officers arrived, May admitted that there was not an emergency, but he just wanted officers to have the manager correct his order. It should be noted that when officers arrived, more than half of May’s food was already consumed.

May was booked into the Polk County Jail for one count of Misuse of 911 and one count of Trespass-Fail to leave upon Owner Order.
