Auburndale, Florida – Auburndale Police were dispatched to a disturbance at 3042 Timothy Dr. Apt. B at about 12:30am Wednesday, 5/8/2013. While officer were enroute to the scene, dispatch advised officers there had been a stabbing at the location. The domestic disturbance involved the residence, Yadiel O’Neille Mojica-Colon H/M 11/21/1991 of Timothy Dr. Apt B and his live in 17 year old girlfriend. Mojica-Colon pushed down his girlfriend during the disturbance, she was not injured. Red tide bloom affecting manatees along southwest Florida coast
A red-tide event in southwest Florida has claimed 174 manatees so far this year. Although results are preliminary, this is the highest number of red-tide-related deaths in a single calendar year on record. State and federal scientists are monitoring and responding to manatees affected by the ongoing red tide bloom along the southwest Florida coast. Jacksonville, Florida – Florida surfers who ride waves at Mayport Poles might find this news a little unsettling, but scientists sure were delighted to have tagged and released a large great white shark Sunday afternoon immediately beyond the popular surf spot, in only 25 feet of water. It’s the first time a great white has been tagged in the Jacksonville area, Chris Fisher, founder of Ocearch, told the Florida Times-Union. On July 18, 2012, at 11:57pm the residents of 4340 Ashton Club Drive, in Lake Wales, heard a loud noise coming from their front porch. Thinking someone was maybe trying to break in, the home owners went to their door and saw their porch had been broken into. What the home owner found was not an ordinary intruder.
