Armed & Dangerous Suspect Barricaded Himself In Attic Before Being Arrested
Winter Haven, Florida – On July 31, 2012 at approximately 4 p.m., police received information that Kareem Danell “SuWu” Archibald (B/M, DOB 5-13-84, of Ave. E., NE, Winter Haven) was inside of a residence located at 38 Poe Dr. in Winter Haven. Winter Haven Police and Polk County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the location. At that time Archibald barricaded himself inside of the attic.
After about twenty minutes of negotiations, Archibald came out of the attic and was taken into custody without further incidence and charged with Armed Robbery.
Archibald was wanted for allegedly being part of a group that robbed the Winter Haven K-Mart On Thursday, July 19, 2012 at approximately 9:50 p.m. At that time 3 suspects armed with a handgun robbed the K-Mart store located at 6015 Cypress Gardens Boulevard S.E. Witnesses reported the suspects fled west in a gray in color Nissan on Cypress Gardens Boulevard.
Approximately 10 minutes after the reported robbery, Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy Lance Turley spotted the suspect vehicle in the area of Dundee Road and Buckeye Loop Road. A Winter Haven officer arrived as back-up and they attempted a vehicle stop. The suspect vehicle fled and the deputy and officer pursued the vehicle to the area of Palm Place Apartments where 2 passengers fled on foot from the vehicle. Deputies and officers captured one suspect after a short foot pursuit into the apartment complex. He was identified as Michael James. The Sheriff’s Office helicopter continued to follow the suspect vehicle to Lucerne Park Road east of the Wal-Mart Distribution Center where the driver surrendered to deputies and officers. The driver has been identified as Bryan Nathan Olsen.
