Around UPDATE to ongoing investigation in Haines City: During this investigation, after the second suspect burst out of a garage driving a car in the Chanler Ridge subdivision in Haines City at HCPD officers and PCSO deputies, and was shot at and then apprehended by HCPD and PCSO, deputies and officers discovered two deceased adults in that home. On Friday, February 21, 2014, Polk County Sheriff’s undercover detectives conducted a Vice initiative at Saddle Creek Park in Lakeland, focusing on complaints about indecent activity at the park. A total of nine men were arrested for soliciting lewd acts: 60-year-old Stephen Cyr, of 3305 Skyview Drive #105 in Lakeland, solicited an undercover detective to commit a lewd act. Cyr told detectives he is a roofer for Springer Peterson. He is a Registered Sexual Predator from a case in Hillsborough County in 1997. Lake Wales, Florida – On February 16, 2014 at 8:55pm officers responded to a crash involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of SR 60 and Buckmoore Rd. The investigation revealed a black 1999 Honda 4door sedan, being driven by Cecile Depart a 19 year old resident from Tallahassee, was traveling westbound on SR 60. Polk City Man Jumps In Front Of Semi

Polk City, Florida – Polk County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a traffic fatality this morning in Polk City in which a pedestrian apparently intentionally jumped in front of a semi tractor-trailer to end his life. The pedestrian was declared deceased on-scene. Around midnight Thursday night/Friday morning, April 21-22, 2011, an adult male was seen by several witnesses screaming obscenities and jumping in and out of southbound traffic near the 1000 block of Commonwealth Avenue in Polk City. Lake Wales, Florida – At approximately 10:28 pm, Saturday, April 17, 2011, 26-year-old Phillip Craig Durden, DOB  03/26/1985, 209 Arianna Avenue, Auburndale, was traveling east on Highway 60 in Lake Wales, in the west bound lanes, in a white, 2002, Ford F-150 pulling a trailer. The pick up truck struck head on with a semi-truck driven by Jay Batson.
