Polk City Man Jumps In Front Of Semi
Polk City, Florida – Polk County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a traffic fatality this morning in Polk City in which a pedestrian apparently intentionally jumped in front of a semi tractor-trailer to end his life. The pedestrian was declared deceased on-scene. Around midnight Thursday night/Friday morning, April 21-22, 2011, an adult male was seen by several witnesses screaming obscenities and jumping in and out of southbound traffic near the 1000 block of Commonwealth Avenue in Polk City. PCSO ARREST 60 IN OPERATION TARGETING ONLINE PROSTITUTION
Winter Haven, Florida – In an undercover investigation targeting online adult ads, which began Monday, April 11, 2011, and through Sunday, April 17, 2011, Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested 60 suspects, both male and female, and charged them with either Soliciting another for Prostitution, Deriving Proceeds from Prostitution, or Aiding and Abetting Prostitution.
