Polk City, Florida – Polk County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a traffic fatality this morning in Polk City in which a pedestrian apparently intentionally jumped in front of a semi tractor-trailer to end his life. The pedestrian was declared deceased on-scene. Around midnight Thursday night/Friday morning, April 21-22, 2011, an adult male was seen by several witnesses screaming obscenities and jumping in and out of southbound traffic near the 1000 block of Commonwealth Avenue in Polk City.
