        Update: Missing juvenile, Allyssa Atkinson, has been recovered by Winter Haven Police detectives. As a result of media coverage, a tip was received this morning on the location of Atkinson.  Officers responded to Johnson Avenue in Haines City where Atkinson was recovered and appeared to be in good health.  She has been returned to DCF custody. “We appreciate our media partners’ assistance in locating this runaway,” said Chief Gary Hester.     Orlando, Florida – The FBI was involved in a fatal shooting near Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla., early Wednesday that killed a man with ties to the older brother suspected in last month’s deadly terrorist bombing at the Boston Marathon. CBS News senior correspondent John Miller, a former FBI assistant director, reported on “CBS This Morning” that the man, Ibrahim Todashev, was friends with Tamerlan Tsarnaev, a suspect in the attack that killed three people and injured more than 260 others.     A monstrous tornado killed at least 51 people Monday as it roared through Moore and south Oklahoma City — leaving rescue workers frantically searching into the night for missing children at the devastated Plaza Towers Elementary School in the Moore School District.     Off Duty Lakeland Police Officer Arrested For Battery

    Lakeland, Florida – Deputies arrested 41-year-old Jerry Matthew Monroe of Lakeland today charging him with Misdemeanor Battery. Monroe is a Police Officer with the Lakeland Police Department. Monroe was off duty at the time of the incident, which occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013. It is believed that Monroe became enraged when the other driver allegedly cut him off. As a reference, Monroe is the larger man who exits his vehicle—his was the second vehicle to enter the parking area.

Auburndale, Florida – Auburndale Fire Department received a call around 9:30 am yesterday regarding a structure fire at 193 Rebecca Ln, Auburndale Florida. The fire which is under investigation burned many of the contents inside the home. No one was injured in the fire. The two families that lived in the home were put in touch with The American Red Cross who were working on living arrangements for the family.

Lake Wales, Florida – On May 17, 2013 someone entered the parking lot of Weikert Ford, located at 21399 HWY27 in Lake Wales and stole a red 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra which was for sale on the car lot. The investigation has revealed at about 3:16am an unknown person(s) entered the dealership lot through a gate which was either accidentally left unlocked or was somehow unlocked by the offender(s).
