    Polk County Sheriff’s Office Conducting Fatal Crash Investigation At approximately 3:15 pm, on Friday, July 18, 2014, 75-year-old Frances G. Deaton, Rushing Road, Lakeland, was traveling northbound on Rockridge Road, north of Deen Still Road, in a 2007, blue Nissan Sentra.   For unknown reasons, Deaton lost control of her vehicle and the Sentra exited the right (east) side of the roadway, striking a tree, and rolling over. On Wednesday afternoon, 13-year-old Nick Lamb was asleep in his room when his house caught fire and began to fill with smoke, the Indianapolis Star reported. Nick is legally deaf, and, because he was sleeping without his cochlear implants in, he couldn’t hear the smoke alarm. Luckily, the family dog, Ace, came to the rescue. New Restaurant In Lake Wales

By Carl Fish Lake Wales,  Florida – It’s been a few years since the North corner of the Eagle Ridge Mall has been home to a restaurant. That ended today. The former location of Garfield’s, a place this writer often frequented,  was alive with people and music. Gone were the Cajun Chicken Pasta, fire strings and other former dishes.
