Winter Haven Home Invasion Suspects Use Woman & Child To Lure Home Owner Into Opening His Door

Winter Haven, Florida – Winter Haven Police are warning citizens to be mindful when opening the door to someone unknown due to a home invasion that occurred last night.

On 7-16-14 at approximately 10:30 p.m.,  a resident heard a knock on the front door of their Hartridge Dr., West home and looked out of the window. The resident saw a light skinned black female, approximately 5’1″ wearing a light-blue shower cap and a gray tank top. She was accompanied by a small child, five to six years of age. The victim stated the woman and child looked scared so he opened the door hoping to see what he could do to help.

As soon as the victim opened the door, two black males pushed their way into the residence and slammed the resident on the floor. One suspect pinned the victim down and held him at gunpoint while the other went through the residence looking for valuables.

The suspects took electronics and cash from the victim and fled the residence. Though extremely shook up, the victim was unharmed.

Police are investigating the case and ask anyone with information to call Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS(8477). Callers can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a CASH reward.
