Update: Manhunt Continues For Eleno Suarez Wanted For Attempted Murder of LEO

Eleno Suarez (470 x 346)Zolfo Springs, Florida – On Sunday, August 4, 2013, the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office received information that 21-year-old Eleno Suarez, DOB 12/16/1992, last known address, 70 West Frostproof Baptist Church Road, Frostproof, had made contact with a resident asking for assistance and that Suarez may still be in the Avon Park area. The Hardee County Sheriff’s Office advised Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies and members from both agencies responded to begin a search of the area.

As previously reported, Suarez was originally wanted in a July 2013 Armed Home Invasion Robbery/Carjacking that occurred on Oakridge Drive in Frostproof. Since that time Suarez now faces charged of faces charges of Attempted Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer.

On Saturday, August 03, 2013, Suarez was observed in the area of the Town Star convenience store at the intersection of US Highway 27 and US Highway 98 in Frostproof, along with five other individuals. Suarez, with those with him, fled the area in a Ford Focus. Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies recognizing Suarez as a wanted subject, attempted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 630 and Hopson Road, but Suarez did not stop and deputies began to pursue the Focus. During the pursuit, Suarez, who was driving the Focus, fired multiple shots at PCSO deputies. No deputies were injured. Members from the Lake Wales Police Department, the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the area to assist. Suarez ultimately lost control of the Focus in a rural area of State Road 64 and US 98 in Hardee County. Deputies were able to apprehend Suarez’s five passengers, however, Suarez fled on foot.

On Sunday, after receiving the information about Suarez possible location in Avon Park, a command post and perimeter were established. Members of the Florida Wildlife Commission, State Fire Marshall, Lake Wales Police Department, and Highlands County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search.

@ Mike- Really? They are searching the area around your house for a wanted suspect who fired shots at a marked deputy. Shouldn’t you lead a better example for you son by respecting the law and allowing them to do their job without ignorant people like you trying to provoke them? You are not better than the criminal they are trying to find, in which case they are also providing protection to you and your family by doing so. Would you still flick them off when this guy decides to grab your kid and hold him hostage with a gun to his head because they missed their chance to catch him and he slipped by while they were on the side of the road dealing your ignorance? And not only do you need to teach your child to respect the law, not abuse it like you, but you also need to teach him to SHUT THE HECK UP!! gees, he shows a fine example of your parenting skills! Pay attention to your child more and focus less on acting like one yourself!!

I drove through twice on a trip to Arcadia and not myself or anyone else got pulled or searched in that area. I would hope that would be done to make sure he isnt making his way out of this area. pray for safety for all LEOs out there doing their job.

  6. Well, I am glad a grabbed a copy of Mikes video before he removed it….Will come in very handy as an example of pure and utter moron….
