On 1-17-15 at approximately 5:45 p.m. 52 year-old Marsha James was sitting outside of her residence at 498 Sears Ave. in Winter Haven when gunfire erupted between a group of males walking in the street and a vehicle driving in the area. As previously reported, while tending to the victim, Ms. James, and investigating that shooting, Winter Haven Police officers were involved in an officer-involved shooting that is still under investigation by the Winter Haven Police Department and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Lake Wales Lady highlanders soccer team won the district championship over Auburndale 2-1. The 1st goal was scored by Senior , Amanda Robillard and the second by Mariah Daly. WINTER HAVEN – Winter Haven Police are investigating three separate shootings that occurred in the North East area of the city tonight. Today at approximately 5:25 p.m. Winter Haven officers were in the area of 3rd St., and Ave. T, NE in Winter Haven as additional security because of large crowds in the parking area at Three Brothers Family Food Store. Reports of Plane Crash At Sebring Airport

  Highlands County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have confirmed the identities of the two individuals who were killed in the plane crash at Sebring Airport earlier today. The pilot of the plane was Dennis Gordon Day, 56 years of age, of Groveland, Florida. The passenger has been identified as Jason Reid Spinks, 44 years of age of Orlando.
