Bartow High School Teacher Arrested For Possession of Marijuana

On Friday, October 24, 2014, PCSO Undercover Narcotics detectives arrested 45-year-old John Michael Garrison of Lakeland, who is a Bartow High School teacher, for possession of marijuana under 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.   According to the affidavit detectives responded to Garrison’s home based on information they had received that he was in possession of marijuana. When Garrison opened the front door, detectives could smell marijuana. A search of his home produced a metal grinder used to grind marijuana, a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana, and a small bag of marijuana. Organized Retail Theft Crime Investigation Results in Eight Arrests   Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested eight people related to an investigation of organized retail theft.  Detectives learned that suspects worked together as a group where they committed thefts from several retail locations to include Bealls Outlet, Sports Authority, Hot Topic, Footlocker, Rainbow, Crush, Dillard’s, Kohl’s, Toys R Us, Cotton On, and Burlington Coat Factory.  The organized group of suspects primarily targeted clothing merchandise.  After selecting and concealing the merchandise, the suspects exited the businesses, and passed all points of the sale without purchasing the items.  Approximately $6,500 in stolen…

Haines City, Florida – At around 5:40 Saturday morning, the Haines City Fire Department responded to reports of a person yelling for help from under a vehicle. A male subject was attempting to jump start his vehicle at the intersection of Highway 17-92 North and Cypress. The male subject accidently left the vehicle in drive subsequently pinning himself under the vehicle. Haines City Firefighters were able to free the victim from under the vehicle by using high pressure airbags.  Once the vehicle was lifted and stabilized, the patient was pulled to safety and airlifted to the hospital.

According to reports the incident happened around 2:30pm this afternoon. Two suspects were fleeing to elude law enforcement and were in the vicinity of the school which is located at 4751 County Road 547 N, Davenport.
