Haines City Police Department Is Currently Investigating the Death of a Haines City Man

The Haines City Police Department is currently working a death investigation that was reported at approximately 8:30 AM. The death occurred in a wooded area west of North 30th Street between Johnson Avenue and Melbourne Avenue.  The name of the deceased is Gustavo Jaimes Mendez, H/M, DOB: 4/22/1990, 2109 Winger Avenue, Haines City, FL. The next of kin has been notified of the incident.  The investigation is still considered active pending the results of an autopsy.

Davenport, Florida – A Winter Haven man was arrested after he repeatedly rammed into a another vehicle in a road-rage incident on Hwy 27 in Davenport. The incident took place on July 17, 2014. According to the PCSO affidavit, the driver of a white Mitsubishi, identified as 43-year-old Nicholas Dellas of Winter Haven, repeatedly was seen ramming a vehicle On Hwy 27. Lakeland, Florida – Three Lakeland men and an Okeechobee freshwater turtle farmer were caught illegally harvesting, selling and buying wild-caught freshwater turtles as a result of a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) investigation. “Turtles are a popular, commercially available food item throughout much of the world and, as a result, over harvest has occurred in many countries,” said the FWC’s Lt.
