Joshua Levi Burch was a local young man who grew up in the East Polk County Area (Dundee, Haines City & Lake Wales mostly). On September 5, 2010, Joshua Levi Burch, 20 was shot and killed while driving down Pleasant Hill Road near SR17-92. Three year’s later, detectives are still actively looking for new leads in this case, the only homicide from that year that goes unsolved. Haines City, Florida – The Haines City Police Department is investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred on Masse Road west of Lionel Way. On 07/30/2013 at 8:52 pm Rhonda Ghere 11/18/1960, Massee Road Davenport, FL 33844 was traveling westbound on Massee Road when she failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the roadway and struck a tree. Rhonda Ghere was pronounced deceased on scene by Polk County EMS. The crash remains under investigation pending an autopsy.

On Friday, July 19, 2013, the Central Florida HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area)* task force arrested five suspects and seized approximately 23 pounds of Methamphetamine in the Haines City area. Detectives received information about two men believed to be distributing Meth in Haines City. They began an investigation, established probable cause, and responded to the home of 33-year-old Juan Arteaga-Orozco (DOB 4/8/80) at 95 George M Road in Haines City (believed to be a ‘stash house’) and served a search warrant.
