Polk Avenue Cardinals compete in Special Olympics
LAKE WALES – A team of Polk Avenue Elementary Cardinals competed recently in the Special Olympics Track and Field competition in Bartow.
Several Polk Avenue athletes earned ribbons and other recognition during the Feb. 20 track meet.
Tellissa Deloach finished second in the 100 meters and fourth in shot put. Tristan Deloach finished third in the 100 meters and second in shot put.
Angelica Jones finished first in shot put and first in the 400 meters. Jordan Hall finished first in shot put and second in 100 meters.
Anthony Eford finished third in 100 meters and first in shot put. Joseph Charles finished first in shot put and fourth in 100 meters.
Angelica Jones, Jordan Hall, Anthony Eford and Joseph Charles also won first place honors for the 4×100 Relay.
“We are so proud of our Special Olympians from Polk Avenue,” said their teacher Maria Jimenez. “They all demonstrated great Cardinal Pride at the track meet.”
